Burlingame, a casual fine dining restaurant, is now hiring all staff positions

Burlingame is a new restaurant offering seasonal, modern American cuisine in the Fernandina Beach Historic District opening in February 2016 is now hiring exceptional hospitality staff. Our aim is to deliver exceptional, composed dishes from fresh ingredients with unobtrusive service in a relaxed and charming setting. Burlingame is an exciting dining destination where we believe every guest should be able to have the experience THEY want when dining. We have nearly completed renovations to a beautiful building to provide casually elegant ambiance. The food, wine and beers need to be extraordinary and the service needs to be top notch. We recognize that our vision can only be realized through a team of cooks, servers, hostesses, bartenders, dishwashers, and managers who are all committed to delivering superior guest experiences. Everyone on our team needs to have the “Hospitality Gene” and demonstrable commitment to satisfy our guests.

Here you can laugh with friends, visit with family or have an intimate dinner for two and our wait staff will work to ensure your experience is beyond your expectations. Our staff will be there when you need them but tonight is about your party not about us. If we do our job right you won’t even notice us.

Now that we have filled our management positions we are ready to complete our opening team of servers and server assistants/food runners, line cooks, dishwashers, bartenders (wine and beer), and host/hostesses.

In addition to great passion for creating excellent cuisine and delivering superior guest experiences our staff must be reliable, trustworthy, able to follow instructions and desiring to succeed in a collaborative/ team environment.

Specific experience requirements include:

Line Cooks:
• Experience and demonstrated success working in a team in a commercial kitchen providing exceptional, high-end food in a fast paced environment.

Servers and Server Assistants/Food Runners:
• Experience in fine dining service is desired but NOT necessary for self-starting individuals with a passion for hospitality and a willingness and aptitude to learn.

Bartenders:
• Experience in restaurant bar service (Fine wines and beers).

Dishwashers:
• Experience in commercial kitchen and a dedication to highest standards of cleanliness.

Host/Hostess:
• No experience is necessary.

Burlingame Restaurant will be open for dinner service Tuesday to Saturday and for brunch on Sunday. Compensation is competitive with local industry and commensurate with experience. Benefits vary by role and full/part-time status and include group medical coverage for qualifying team members, dining discounts, partial pay during two off-season weeklong closures, participation in bonus plan, training & development program, and family meal.
