A Common Vision: Quality Food, Excellent Service, and Comfortable Atmosphere
Having traveled extensively and lived abroad for a decade, Eric and Deb Fanelli had developed clear views on what makes a great restaurant experience. They had very specific ideas about the kind of dining experience they thought would add to Fernandina Beach’s already vibrant restaurant mix.
After retirement from a thirty-year career in management, Eric took cooking classes at Salt Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island, where he met Chef Chad Livingston. As they got to know each other in the Salt kitchen and over coffee they found they shared the same vision of what a great restaurant should be.
When Deb joined the discussions, it was clear her views meshed with her husband’s and Chef Chad’s and they commenced the search for a venue where they could open a restaurant which would contribute to Fernandina Beach’s longstanding tradition as a desirable dining destination. The result is Burlingame.
The vision for Burlingame is simple: great made-from-scratch food, unobtrusive service, in a relaxed environment.
Meet Our Chef
Chef Chad Livingston grew up in Fernandina, participated in the FBHS Culinary Program and attended the Culinary
Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he received his culinary arts degree.
After graduating from culinary school, Chef Chad ventured to Denver, CO where he refined his skills at Fruition Restaurant and Venue Restaurant. A desire to return to his roots in Fernandina Beach prompted Chef Chad to move back home to Florida where he accepted a position at Salt Restaurant, a AAA Five Diamond establishment at the Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island.
Chef Chad prides himself on preparing classic dishes with fresh and sustainable ingredients. Focusing on a season-inspired menu, everything at Burlingame is prepared in-house.
